Work Share

Q: How do I sign up for Work Share hours?

You will receive an email notification when jobs open. The time can vary but typically, it is a week or so before the meet. After you are notified of jobs, either click on the link in the email or:

On a computer:

  1. Go to the KING website: http://www.kingaquaticclub.com
  2. Login using your primary e-mail and password
  3. In the side menu, click Events & Competition > Team Events
  4. Find an upcoming meet in the list and click Job Signup.
  5. Check the boxes by the jobs you will work. Be careful not to pick conflicting times!
  6. Click Signup
  7. In the popup box, optionally enter any contact information such as a phone number, or if someone else will be doing the job, their name and number, and click Sign Up.
  8. If you accidentally sign up for the wrong job, or later discover you can't work a job, select the job and click Remobe Signup. You can do this up until 11:59pm of the Job Signup Deadline at the top of the page.
  9. You may click Print My Job Signup Summary near the top of a handy reference of all the jobs you signed up for.

On mobile:

  1. Go to the KING website: http://www.kingaquaticclub.com
  2. Login using your primary e-mail and password
  3. In the upper left corner, tap the hamburger icon or slide right to open the navigation menu. Tap Events & Jobs.
  4. Tap Job Signup.
  5. From here, you may:
    • Search for an event.
    • Choose a date range.
  6. Tap on an event to see more information.
  7. Filter by Job, Start Time, or People needed.
  8. Tap an event's unfilled slot.
  9. Tap the + icon to enter the number of people volunteering for this job.
  10. Tap Add.

Using the OnDeck app:

  1. Access by tapping  Events > Events & Meet Entries.
  2. Ensure you are on the UPCOMING Events tab
  3. CATEGORY FILTER shows all categories by default; toggle any on/off.
  4. Tap a meet to see meet details.
  5. Tap the green JOB SIGNUP button
  6. Filter by Job, Start Time, or People needed.
  7. Tap an event's unfilled slot.
  8. Tap Signup to work the job.

Q: How do I check my Work Share volunteer hours?

From a computer, go to the KING website: http://www.kingaquaticclub.com

  • Login using your primary e-mail and password
  • On the left side menu, click on My Account > Account Info
  • Click the grey SERVICE HOURS tab at the top
  • This will list all jobs and hours that have been recorded for your family as well as your balance.

For a detailed view from a computer that you can print:

  • On the left side menu, click Events & Competition > Event & Job Reports
  • Click on the “Job Signup Report for My Account" link at the top
  • This will list all jobs and hours that have been recorded for your family as well as your outstanding balance.

Q: How do I view my Work Share Forecast?

From a computer, go to the KING website: http://www.kingaquaticclub.com

  1. Login using your primary e-mail and password
  2. Click on the gray tab on the left, click Events & Competition > Event & Job Reports
  3. Click Service Hours Forecast for My Account.
  4. Enter the event date, and click Search.
  5. From here, you'll be able to view the following:
    • Event
    • Event Date
    • Athlete and Entry
    • Job
    • Job Date/Time
    • Hours/Points
    • Total Hours/Points
    • Obligation Balance
    • Shortage/Overage
    • Row Code

Q: How do I report discrepancies?

 Please report any discrepancies to the Director of Volunteers by submitting the following information to: volunteers@kingaquaticboosters.com

  • Even/Meet
  • Date of Event
  • Name on the Account
  • Swimmer’s name
  • Job worked
  • Number of hours worked

Q: Can I apply for a Volunteer Hardship?
A: We do not have a “hardship application. If you think you may not be able to complete your Work Share requirement for the season, we will help you come up with solutions, so you are able to complete the required hours. Our goal is to have everyone involved. If you have extreme circumstances that impact your ability to meet your hours, the Boosters Board can review your case and propose a solution. Please reach out to volunteers@kingaquaticboosters.com as soon as possible if this is the case. Do not wait until the end of the season to have your case reviewed.


Q: Should I turn in Work Share hours worked past my required hours?
A: Yes, please send in all hours worked so that we can keep accurate hours of all positions, hours and jobs for future reference.

Q: What if I signed up to volunteer and then am not able to? What do I do?
A: If you can no longer work a shift, you must cancel before that deadline or find a suitable replacement if the deadline has closed. If you have an immediate problem, contact: volunteers@kingaquaticboosters.com 

Q: Whom do I go to if I have questions or concerns?
A: Please address all your Work Share concerns to: volunteers@kingaquaticboosters.com. The coaches are not involved in the Work Share requirements, reporting, fees, or exceptions. The Boosters oversees the entire Work Share program; all information must be directed to the email address above.

Booster Association Board Meetings

Q: How often are board meetings scheduled?
A: Meetings of the KING Booster Association Board of Directors (BOD) typically occur monthly. There will be at least one General Membership meeting per season. Membership will be made aware of Boosters Meetings. 

Q: How do I contact board members?
A: Under the "Boosters" tab, select the Leadership page for contact information of every KING Boosters Association Board Member.

Q: Are non-board members allowed to attend board meetings?
A: Yes. Members are encouraged to attend meetings of the Board, except for Executive Board Meetings. Executive Board Meetings are typically scheduled when there is a need to discus confidential information such as financial assistance.


Q: How can I get an item on the board meeting agenda?
A: All that is required is your issue of concern be placed on the meeting schedule by sending a request to the President and/or Secretary. 

Q: How can I see the KING Booster Association bylaws?
A: The Bylaws of King Aquatic Club Boosters Association are posted on the Boosters page of the website in the Documents section.

Social Events

Q: How do I find out about social events?
A: All events are announced on the website’s “Team News" area at the upper right corner of the homepage. Also, check out the "General Calendar" on the KING Calendar tab. Some social events will require advance sign-up in the “Events" area at the lower right corner of the homepage. Swimmers will also find out about events from coaches.


Q: How do I volunteer to help organize social events or offer ideas?
A: Please contact KING Boosters Director of Membership by email.

Team Fundraising

Q: Where can I mail a fundraising check?
A: Mail a check to:

Make your check payable to the KING BOOSTERS and indicate which fund or program you wish to support (i.e. scholarships, swim-a-thon, travel fund, meet operations).

Q; Can I make a donation using a credit card?
A: Yes you can! Please make your donation to King Aquatic Club Boosters Association through Network For Good. Click HERE  to make your donation.

Q: What are the tax benefits of making a gift to the KING BOOSTERS?
A: Your gift is tax-deductible as specified in IRS regulations. The King Aquatic Club Boosters Association (tax id number 91-1363268) is registered as a charitable organization with the Secretary of State, State of Washington. Gifts of securities may have additional tax benefits. Bequests, trusts and other planned gifts can offer significant tax benefits.

Q: What calendar does the King Aquatic Club Boosters Association use to recognize gifts?
A: The King Aquatic Club Boosters Association recognizes gifts according to the King Aquatic Club’s fiscal year, which runs from September 1 to August 31. Gifts received for example between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021 will be counted as fiscal year 2020 gifts.

Swim Meet Officials

Q: What steps are involved in becoming an official?
A: By following these steps:

  • Attend a clinic to become a USA certified Official.
  • Take and pass the written USA Swimming Official test
  • USA swimming Non-Athlete registration, complete and pass USA Swimming required background screen level 2 check, take Athlete Protection Training.
  • Work a minimum of four (4) apprentice sessions within two (2) meets and gain meet referee recommendation to be certified.

Q: Do officials get paid?
A: Officials do not get paid at meets, but they receive service hours credit for the sessions they work.

Q: How often do I have to work if I am an official?
A: You are required to work a minimum of 10 sessions per year (20/ two years) to maintain certification.
